Bullying
Fight Fire With a Fire Extinguisher
By: Emma
The topic I'm talking about is really important. Bullying. The definition of bullying is, repeated, aggressive or unwanted behavior, directed towards school aged children.
Have you ever heard the saying, “Fight fire with fire?”
It's basically saying, if someone did something mean, be mean back. That is wrong. You should fight fire with a fire extinguisher, not a bully. In other words, if someone is being rude..don't be rude back, instead be kind to them.
I know how hard that can be, but I suggest following this saying instead, “Just kill em’ with kindness.” Don't literally kill them, instead be kind to the bully, no matter what.
If you or someone you know of is being bullied, don't be a bystander...speak up. Tell a teacher or another trusted adult immediately! Don't fight fire with fire, it just makes more fire. Don't be a bully to a bully, it just makes more bullies. Instead, speak up and remember, alway, no matter what, be kind.
